Free Over-the-Counter Medicine Available for County Residents

Free over-the-counter medicine is coming to Buncombe County residents through the annual Mobile Free Pharmacy Program from NC MedAssist.

Anyone can take home free over-the-counter medicine to stock their pantry. No I.D. is required, and participants don’t need to make an appointment or pre-register for the event. Online-preordering is available.

Medicine available includes:

Allergy
Cough and cold
Pain relief
Vitamins
Children's medicine
And more!

Homebound individuals can get their medications picked up by a friend or family member who is 18 years old or older.

No appointment or registration is required, and there are two ways to pick up your medicine:

Friday, October 23, 2025 – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Items will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
