Talbot County Opens Applications for Opioid Restitution Fund Community Micro Grant Program

Talbot County Government has opened applications for the next round of the Opioid Restitution Fund (ORF) Community Micro Grant Program, providing funding opportunities for local nonprofit organizations working to address the impacts of opioid use in Talbot County.

The program provides one-time grants to eligible nonprofit organizations to support community-based prevention, treatment, recovery and harm-reduction efforts. Funding for the program comes from opioid settlement funds received as a result of national settlements with pharmaceutical companies and distributors.

Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations with active 501(c)(3) status and be in good financial standing and proposed projects must address opioid-related needs in Talbot County. Funding may support prevention, treatment, recovery, harm reduction, crisis response and other eligible community-based programs.

“Local organizations continue to be on the front lines of this work, providing services and support directly to individuals and families impacted by substance use,” said Sheriff Joe Gamble. “In the first year of this program, these funds supported community-based efforts that expanded prevention, treatment, recovery and harm-reduction services for Talbot County residents. Now, as we enter the second year, we have another opportunity to build on that progress, invest opioid settlement dollars back into our community, and support programs that are making a meaningful difference for Talbot County residents.”

Applications will be reviewed for eligibility and alignment with allowable uses of Opioid Restitution Fund dollars. Funding recommendations will be presented to the Talbot County Council for consideration.

Organizations interested in applying should review the full program guidelines and application requirements before submitting.

Applications are due September 11, 2026, by 3 p.m. Late submissions will not be accepted.
