Global COPD Inhalers Market is Expected to Reach 61.3 Billion by 2022 with a CAGR of 5.3% from 2016

Market Research Report

Market Research Report

Many of the pharmaceutical giants are spending a large amount of fund on the research and development of COPD treatment

PUNE, MAHARASHTRA, INDIA, March 3, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — COPD Inhalers Market
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a wide term used for progressive lung diseases which includes chronic bronchitis, emphysema, refractory asthma, and some forms of bronchiectasis. The symptoms of COPD includes recurrent coughing with or without sputum, difficulty in breathing, wheezing and tightness in the chest due to the blockage of lungs’ airways. More than 70 million people in the world are suffering from COPD as of 2015, majority of them being Americans.

For all the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases, there is no cure but certain treatments help in improving quality of life of COPD patients. One of the effective treatments for COPD patients is COPD Inhalers. COPD inhalers can be further segmented into inhaler medicines and inhaler devices. Through inhaler devices, a medicine can be directly provided to the lungs, which is one of the most effective and quick treatment for COPD. This method of treatment also requires a smaller quantity of medicine as compared to that when one takes a medicine in tablets or liquid form.

The global market in terms of value for both inhaler devices and medicines is growing hand in hand as for the inhalation of medicines inhaling devices are required. According to the study conducted by MRFR analysts, the “Global COPD Inhalers Market is expected to reach ~$61.3 billion by 2022 with a compound annual growth rate of ~5.3% from 2016.”

COPD Inhalers Market: Regional Analysis
North America is recorded to be the largest and one of the rapidly growing markets due to increasing COPD cases. According to COPD foundation, there were around 30 million COPD people alone in America in 2015. The United States is one of the countries with highest number of COPD cases amongst other countries in North American region.

Following US Europe is the second-largest market in the world with the growing incidence of disease in the countries such as UK, France, Germany and Belgium. In Europe alone, about 55% of these total studies are conducted, UK being at the top of this list is conducting highest number of clinical trials along with Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Finland, Romania and other EU countries.

APAC followed by the Middle East and Africa are the growing markets in this industry due to increasing number of ageing population, a large number of COPD population, rising tobacco consumption and increased number of smoking population (COPD Foundation, 2017).

MRFR Analyst View:
Based on the current situations in the field of COPD therapeutic area, a good amount of research is going on by major pharmaceutical companies to find out the best possible treatment options for COPD. However, there is a dearth of focus on indirect treatment options such as COPD awareness campaigns and pulmonary rehabilitation canters. All the leading players in the industry can come up with such pulmonary rehabilitation centres as a part of their CSR activity which would help in the early detection of COPD. This initiative would also be useful for their branding and would clearly increase the treatment options for COPD patients giving them a better life.

Furthermore, with growing incidence cases, various studies conducted by WHO and national health authorities in various countries, COPD has come up to be one of the alarming cause of death all over the world, which soon needs to be taken under control. The governments of various countries, NGOs and research foundations are actively participating in this research area to provide some sort of solution to the affected population. Although the incidence cases of COPD are growing year on year, there is a hope of cure with the increasing research and development in this therapeutic area.

Cambridge Breakthrough for stem cell science.

Cambridge Company Cell Guidance Systems announced today that it has licensed ETS-embryo technology, developed by researchers at Cambridge University,

This is arguably the most significant breakthrough in stem cell science for a decade”

— Michael Jones

CAMBRIDGE, UNITED KINGDOM, March 2, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — Cambridge Company Cell Guidance Systems announced today that it has licensed a new technology, developed by researchers at Cambridge University, which for the first time makes it possible to simulate major events in mouse embryo development without the use of eggs and sperm.
In ground breaking research that was published in the 2nd March issue of Science, Prof Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz and her colleagues studied trophoblast and embryonic stem cells (ESCs), two of the earliest cell types to develop from the fertilized egg. They found that simply growing these two cells together leads to the development of structures termed ETS-Embryos, which strongly resemble mouse embryos in the days immediately following their implantation into the womb. Key to this success was development of “ETS-Embryo Medium” to culture the two stem cell types.
Since in ETS-embryos all of the genetic identity of the embryonic tissues is derived from the ESC, any embryo produced is a clone of that cell. How far ETS-embryos can develop remains still to be determined.
ETS-Embryos are set to transform the fields of embryology and stem cell science. Potential future applications include improving the efficiency of generation of transgenic animals for research and novel ways to make tissues and organs for stem cell research.
Cell Guidance Systems has agreed an exclusive license to the technology. Dr Michael Jones, CEO of Cell Guidance Systems, commented “We are very happy to be working with Prof Zernicka Goetz’s lab and to be involved in this ground-breaking research. This is arguably the most significant breakthrough in stem cell science for a decade and these discoveries provide key insights into mammalian development. The potential benefits of the technology for basic research and the development of new medical therapies is very exciting.”
About Cell Guidance Systems
Cell Guidance Systems is a biotechnology company based in Cambridge, UK that is leading the way in the development of technologies for cell based research and regenerative medicine. The company collaborates in the development of new technologies with academics and clinicians at universities and hospitals in the UK and internationally.

vWhat are the Do’s and Don’ts for Wet Lab & Dry Lab Users

Largest Food and Diagnostics Lab in the USA

Lab technician using lab equipment

Back to Back Testing Workbenches

Keep safety & flexibility in mind when planning a new Wet Lab or Dry Lab build out. Read these Do’s and Don’ts.

Consider These Laboratory Safety Guidelines as Part of Your Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)”

— Formaspace

AUSTIN, TEXAS, UNITED STATES, March 2, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — Advances in laboratory research keep accelerating with new techniques and technologies changing the way laboratory researchers perform experiments and make discoveries. These changes have made it more important than ever for lab architects and lab managers to keep flexibility in mind when planning new laboratory construction or renovations.

Major advances in the capabilities of scientific lab equipment, digital computing, and experimental research methods and techniques have had a significant impact on the physical design, layout, and safety considerations for lab safety and design. As a result, modern laboratory design has to be flexible and functional to keep up.

This applies to both of the two traditional lab design categories: Wet Labs and Dry Labs.

Wet Lab Design Considerations

Even though scientific equipment has advanced, the importance of wet labs has not fundamentally changed. These types of labs handle a range of biological specimens, chemicals, drugs, and other materials for use in experiments. In order to support scientific research effectively and safely, wet labs need a range of tools, equipment, and services at hand, such as:

– Lab bench countertops and sinks which can be cleaned easily and are resistant to bacteria and chemicals
– Piped in hot and cold water, often including reverse osmosis (RO) or deionized water
– Chemical fume hoods and biosafety cabinets (BSCs)
– Facilities for handling live test specimens (animal housing aka vivariums) or proximity to clinics for human subjects
– Specialized refrigerators and freezers for storing tissue and other specimens
– Controlled environment areas (warm or cold rooms)
– Autoclaves and other sterilization equipment
– Glass washing and drying area
– Piped in compressed air and vacuum as well as a range of other gasses like natural gas, oxygen, etc.
– Radioactive work area for radiological materials, including safe storage facilities
– Safety showers, eye wash stations, and hand washing stations
– Climate control of ambient air and ventilation (HVAC)
– Vibration controls for sensitive experiments, such as DNA sequencing.
– Drain, Waste, and Vent (DWV) services

Dry Lab Design Considerations

As computers and digital instruments have become more and more central to scientific research, the role of most dry labs has expanded from providing a space for working with dry stored chemicals to a lab space populated with a network of powerful computing systems. There is a light-hearted description for this shift toward computer-based research: while wet labs (working with chemicals and live specimens) make discoveries in vitro, the dry lab discoveries are made in silica using computer software.

Dry laboratory spaces will have fewer requirements for piped services than wet labs. But that doesn’t mean they don’t have their own unique requirements. Increasingly, dry labs need these types of services:

– Extensive cooling and humidity controls to support computer labs (HVAC)
– Clean power systems for sensitive computers, research instruments, and network communications
– Occassional clean room system installations are required for certain processes and experiments
– Vibration controls for sensitive instruments that need to maintain calibration
– Fire suppression systems

What Kinds of Scientific Activities Take Place in Modern Research Laboratories?

To help visualize the different types of activities taking place in wet labs versus dry labs, here is a breakdown of the different types of activities taking place in each one:

Wet Lab Examples

Biomedical Laboratories

– Anaerobic Chamber Labs
– Cell Biology Labs
– Fermenter Labs
– Molecular Biology Labs
– Pathology Labs
– Tissue Culture Labs

Chemistry Laboratories

– Organic Chemistry Labs
– Physical Chemistry Labs

Dry Lab Examples

(Note: samples for study are often prepared in adjacent wet labs)
Instrument and Special Function Labs

– Computer Labs (Mainframe, Workstation, and PCs)
– Confocal Microscope Labs
– Electromagnetic Instrument Labs
– Electron Microscope (EM) Labs
– Electrophysiology and Biophysics Labs
– Flow Cytometry Labs
– Laser Labs
– Mass Spectrophotometry (MS) Labs
– Robotic Equipment Labs
– X-Ray Crystallography Labs

Do’s and Don’ts of Good Laboratory Design Planning

1. Do Remain Flexible

Given the rate of change in laboratory technology and the rapid expanse into new areas of scientific research, it’s critical to maintain flexibility in your choice of furniture. Modular furniture allows you to re-configure your laboratory layout easily to accommodate new usages.

2. Don’t Rely on Fixed Casework Alone

WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, March 2, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Community Oncology Alliance (COA) commends United States Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Tom Carper (D-DE) for introducing the Cancer Care Payment Reform Act of 2017 (S.463) which establishes a national Oncology Medical Home (OMH) demonstration project to reform the way Medicare pays for cancer care.

The purpose of the bill is to change the way Medicare pays for cancer treatment by supporting high quality, well-coordinated care that lowers costs to patients fighting cancer and the overall health care system. COA will be working with community oncology practices to actively enlist the support of their Senators for this bipartisan legislation and to advance a House companion bill.

“The OMH is a proven model that provides enhanced patient communications, greater care coordination, and increased responsiveness to patient needs. Thoughtful, bipartisan legislation like the Cancer Care Payment Reform Act of 2017, is exactly the type of public policy that our nation’s health care system needs,” said Jeff Vacirca, MD, president of COA and CEO of New York Cancer Specialists. “Senators Cornyn and Carper should be loudly applauded for their commitment to cancer patients and practices across the country. We look forward to continuing to work with their office, the rest of Congress, and the administration of President Trump to move our nation’s cancer care system into the future.”

Community oncology practices treat the majority of patients with cancer in America and are committed to making oncology payment reform succeed for all. This includes leading the development and piloting of the original OMH model, as well as, participating in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Center's (CMMI) oncology payment and delivery reform initiative, the Oncology Care Model (OCM).

“Senators Cornyn and Carper must be commended for their leadership on this issue. The Cancer Payment Reform Act of 2017 will serve as a catalyst for developing new, innovative alternative payment models that will increase the quality of care while reducing overall health care costs,” said Ray D. Page, DO, PhD, FACOI of the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in Fort Worth, Texas, a pioneering practice that developed and uses the OMH model of patient care.

“The entire nation is looking for ways to improve quality and lower costs in health care. Thanks to Senators Cornyn and Carper, meaningful payment reform in cancer care is a huge step closer to becoming a reality,” said Jamil Khatri, MD of Regional Hematology and Oncology, P.A. in Newark, Delaware.

The Cancer Care Payment Reform Act of 2017 creates a five-year OMH pilot program that will provide practices the option of participating in a model which compares treatment methods and best practices. It would incentivize oncology practices to improve quality measures and keep patients out of the expensive hospital setting, ultimately reducing overall health care costs. Participating oncology practices would then be rewarded with shared savings.

Canadian Fitness Expert is Transforming Fitness with a Different and Non-generic Approach

Fitness and Health in 2017

Most of the fitness people are doing is over 100yrs old. They are not only outdated but some have been proving to be damaging. UFiiT is that change.

CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA, March 2, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ — UFiiT throws traditional fitness rules out the window. Local gym encourages Calgarians to rethink 'No Pain, No Gain'.

UFiiT by Adrianne, (UFiiT), a new fitness centre focused on customized low-impact training, has officially opened its doors for one-on-one and group personal training as well as group fitness classes. The combination studio and gym is owned and operated by certified Calgary personal trainer Adrianne Oyewole, who has applied two decades of experience to shaping his unique and non-generic programs has helped transform, educate and empower clients in the areas of fitness weight-loss and strength training.

UFiiT helps both fitness newcomers and seasoned athletes alike reach their goals by doing away with traditional calisthenics and applying specialized exercises that stretch and strengthen the targeted muscles while encouraging blood flow to joints. UFiiT's method comes at a time when many are seeking fitness solutions online which can be credible, but do not take into consideration individual circumstances such as body type, movement and personal fitness goals.

"Each body is different, yet the fitness industry often revolves around one-size fits-all solutions. Many of these programs can in fact cause more harm than good if the exercise doesn't suit the client," says Oyewole. "Pain, exhaustion and physical stress are often unnecessarily accepted as the price of results, when this doesn't have to be the case. The UFiiT process takes into account an individual's unique physical structure, lifestyle, fitness goals and health – including any injuries or problem-areas – and helps them reach their potential through guided and comfortable, yet effective exercises."

UFiiT health and Fitness Calgary joined the Calgary fitness studio and gym market and it is now opened for unique and non-generic one on one personal training on Feb 1 2017, and group classes – including Zumba, Ballet Barre Blast and Abs'licious – began Feb. 8, 2017.
